An airport runway may seem like an odd choice as a turist attraction but being given an opportunity to walk cross accross an active military and commercial airfield is one few pass up, you could even drive accross it until 2023.
The land holding the runway is part reclamation and part former horse racing track, although the airport has now cemented its presence with 3,762 commercial flights in the last year, despite its rating as one of the most dangerous to land at in the world due to the rock itself affecting wind conditions and cloud cover while no advanced landing assistance has been fitted due to its military operations.
Many famous photographs have been taken on the runway, including those featuring the legendary John Lennon and Yoko Ono, just don't stand there too long or you might hold up someone elses holiday!
